The manifesto

We built an app to get you
off your apps.

Somewhere along the way, “connecting” started to mean sitting alone with a glowing rectangle. Vibe of The City is a small rebellion against that: a calm, finite guide to the living world around you — the hidden gardens, the long tables, the strangers who become neighbors.

consider this our promise, in writing ↓

01

People, not users.

Nobody here is a user, a follower, or a metric. You’re a person, looking for life. Our whole job is helping you find it faster.

02

Screens are a doorway, not a room.

Every page is built to end. No infinite scroll, no notifications begging you back, no streaks to maintain. Find your thing, close the tab.

03

The best of the city is quiet.

Algorithms amplify what’s loud. We keep gems the old way — by note, by whisper, by someone who loves a place enough to share it gently.

04

Community is a verb.

A long table, a gravel court, a cold river at 7am. Connection happens at places, in person, on purpose. We just point the way.

05

Wonder is a habit.

You don’t need a plane ticket. You need a reason to turn left where you usually turn right. We’re a pocketful of reasons.

06

Success is measured outside.

Other apps win when you stay. We win when you leave — and come back tomorrow only long enough to leave again.

One day, we hope you barely need us —
because you’ll know your city by heart.
